About the event

The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient philosophical text which teaches the technique of living to be learnt and practiced. It is a handbook for action. The human mind tends to seek instant pleasures from material acquisition and sensual gratification. The mind needs to shift from the external world to the assessment and rehabilitation of one’s inner personality. Pursuing unselfish ideals one finds relative peace and success in life. However, the rare one realises that absolute happiness lies within oneself. He overcomes all attachment and possessiveness and reaches the state of spiritual Enlightenment. Chapter 8 is titled The Yoga of Imperishable Brahman.

Meet the Speaker

Sunandaji is the daughter-disciple of internationally eminent philosopher A. Parthasarathy. Under his guidance, Sunandaji has been imbibing Vedanta, the ancient philosophy of India for over three decades.

Dedicating her life to the propagation of Vedanta philosophy, Sunandaji has addressed diverse audiences across four continents for the past twenty years. Her clear and powerful presentation of ancient wisdom in contemporary thought has been acclaimed by prestigious organisations including the Young Presidents’ Organization and many leading universities around the world.

Ancient Wisdom in Modern Times

Vedanta designs the pursuit of happiness through logical and systematic exposition of eternal truths. Founded on no individual, Vedanta is a system of knowledge discovered by pre-eminent seekers of Truth. It is a philosophy that belongs to one and all. It bears no distinction of caste, creed, community or religion. The knowledge promotes material and spiritual well-being. Combines dynamic action with mental peace. Instils the higher values of service to provide prosperity and peace to the community.

Above all, Vedanta holds the distinction of leading us to the ultimate state of Self-realisation, the state of human perfection.

“In the great teaching of the Vedas, there is no touch of sectarianism. It is of  ages, climes and nationalities and it is the royal road for the attainment of the Great Knowledge.”

– HENRY DAVID THOREAU

“The understanding of the philosophy of Vedanta is paramount to the individuals development and collectively will create much more considered choices in navigating the difficulties individually, within the family, the community, the country and humanity as a whole.  It should be essential that the teachings of Vedanta are taught at primary school, high school and university as no-where in the global education framework is the development of the human intellect, taught as a subject.”
